Turton Have Won The West Lancashire League's Richardson Cup For The First Time In Nearly 30yrs

Following on from a false start last Wednesday night, where we had floodlight failure, causing the game to be abandoned at half time, the replay took place Saturday at the County Ground. Thankfully, no floodlights were needed this time around with a 2 pm kick off on what turned out to be a wet and windy day.

Before a goal was scored, Josh "The Stopper" McGreavy pulled off a penalty save, that would have any premier league team salivating, keeping the score at 0-0. McGreavy later turned down an offer from Bolton, he doesn't play for free! Not wanting to be outdone by The Stopper, Ally Dickson popped up at the other end and made it 1-0. It remained 1-0 until half time. In the second half, Daniel Locke wanted in on the action and made it 2-0. Game over.

A fantastic victory, and fantastic season - but it isn't over yet! We now roll onto the final of the Shield this coming Wednesday. Can we make it a double?

There is one man, for whom all connected to the club, would love to have been there - Ernie Charnock.

Ernie that one was for you. Now help us bring the shield home!
